Egyptian Sodomized in a Police Station – Then Arrested for Resisting Authority!

14 January, 2007

This really is not funny. An Egyptian man was arrested in Cairo and Sodomized with sticks by the police. Anyway, he was somehow filmed used a mobile phone camera and he then proceeded to charge the Police Authority. What do the Egyptian authorities do? Being the bastion of democracy and human rights in the region? They re-arrest him on charges of “resisting authority.

You can only wonder what he will now be sodomized with in the slammer this time. And how many times.

Every time (out of the 6-8 times) I have been to Egypt I think to myself: What the hell?! It is a police state based loosely around a Soviet model. Its also incredibly polluted and terribly over-populated. The average wages of a university lecturer after a PhD and five years of teaching are 1000 Egyptian dollars a month. Thats 100 Pounds sterling.

President Mubarak of Egypt, a long-standing dictator with over 26 years of experience in the field of political brutality and stifling freedom of expression, has voiced his concerns over the brutal hanging of Saddam Hussein. Probably a weak move from the President to garner some kind of public support from the Egyptians, but nevertheless he has voiced what many people believe to be mud in the face of sunnites everywhere by both the US and the Iraqi shiites.
